Everybody Welcome

Sharon Esker | Yoga Teacher

Sharon Esker

After a childhood filled with dance, gymnastics, running, and eventually pole-vaulting, Sharon landed on her mat to heal a low-back injury in her early 20s. Barely being able to finish her Bryan Kest 60-minute power yoga VCR tape on the first try, she committed to practicing until she could – Sharon’s never met a challenge she didn’t embrace.

Over nearly 20 years of practicing – having evolved from VCRs tapes to attending actual yoga studio classes – yoga has become the ever-present thread through the ebb and flow of her life’s highs and lows. After having been initially hooked on asana, her favorite parts of class have now shifted from handstands to the quiet, contemplative moments between the poses, where she connects deeply with her breath to move her calmly to the next destination – something she tries to practice off her mat as well. (She still really loves handstands.)

In the fall of 2016, Sharon embarked on her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Katy Dagle and the many talented teachers at Treetop Yoga in Gloucester. Through this experience, she was able to deepen her practice and build strong bonds within the Treetop community of students and teachers.

As a teacher, Sharon welcomes all students – from those just testing the waters to the seasoned yogi – and hopes to share the joy she has cultivated from her practice.  She offers a challenging vinyasa flow that aims to leave students calm, but strong to face the day.

Born and raised in the Boston area, Sharon now lives in Hamilton with her Kentucky-born husband Aaron and their two littles, Harrison and Vivian.
